new blog, everyone.
as in, leaving this one and moving to another one.
I never felt like I was able to really show people my blogs or anything— mostly people from school and such. it always felt too personal, like stuff I just don’t want to share with anyone I know face to face.
and the name, dox— it’s something that really goes back, way back. I like it but I feel like I’ve held onto it for too long. I’ve been needing to leave some things behind lately, and start anew. I want a blog that I can show off to everyone and feel proud of, not…weird and apprehensive because it has such a personal connotation to it.
not that I won’t be posting personal work anymore—of course I will. much more of it, hopefully. but I’ve been changing as a person, as well as my art, and I feel like a new name, a new blog and a fresh start will help me continue that trend.

I’d be honored if anyone here wanted to go ahead and follow me there, since I won’t be posting here anymore. I’d be thrilled. but if you don’t want to, you don’t have to— I’m kinda turning over a new leaf art-wise, and you might not like the direction I’m taking my stuff in. that’s fine. I understand that.
I wanted to thank everyone for their support up until now, though— it really means a LOT to me, even if it doesn’t seem like it most of the time. c’: really, thank you.

had an idea for a painting while I was half asleep and I was so comfy/determined to not forget said idea that I thought about it for like a straight 20 minutes and I ended up remembering it so to celebrate I went ahead and started painting it!
this is generally how I want the light/composition to end up, let’s see how well I’m able to stick to it haha

so this morning in my 3D class these two girls across the room starting talking to each other in fluent japanese and carried on like that for like an hour
like, outta nowhere
the best part was that they were both international students and neither of them are japanese (like one was from korea & and the other idk but she has a heavy accent so I’m assuming she knows another language)
so I was sitting over there like damn
they know three languages
I barely know one
I’ve tried learning languages so hard in the past and it just…it’s never really worked out for me haha (not to be bitching about not knowing languages since I obviously have not tried hard enough) but my roommates have been thinking about cracking down and studying a language together…I’m thinking about joining in haha
I’m lame and would love to be able to speak latin (WHY DOX IT’S SO UN-USEFUL NOBODY SPEAKS IT) I took it in high school so I have kind of a head start, not that I retained any of it haha…
my roommates kinda want to learn spanish and I think it would be much more useful to know than latin haha… but I want to know what you guys think too!
if you could learn a language, what would you learn? if you already know more than one, what do you know? and what would you recommend for me?

yup, photoshop. :3 I did some googling a while ago and downloaded a bunch of pencil-textured brushes (I wish I were cool enough to make my own but I’m not quite yet lol)
